  • Happy 64th birthday to Desi Arnaz Jr., whose birth coincided with the birth of Lucille Ball’s TV baby, Little Ricky on I LOVE LUCY.  Desi has the distinction of being on the cover of the first national edition of TV Guide. Little Desi only actually appeared on the series once, on its final half hour episode. He was, however, a series regular on the first few seasons of HERE’S LUCY.  His wife Amy died in 2015. He works with his sister Lucie to insure the dignity of his parents legacy.

  • The International Motion Picture Almanac 1937-38

Lucille Ball told producers she was born in Butte, Montana, because she thought it sounded more interesting than Jamestown, New York.

She started making movies in 1933 (without screen credit) in “The Bowery” for United Artists.  Also in the film were Irving Bacon, who would later appear as Ethel Mertz’s father Will Potter on “I Love Lucy,” and Charles Lane, who would make six guest appearances on the show as well as playing Banker Barnsdahl on “The Lucy Show.”
