Carol Creighton Burnett was born in San Antonio, Texas.
As a child of alcoholic parents, she was left in the care of her grandmother, who moved them to Hollywood, where they lived in a boarding house and shared a great passion for the movies. During her six decade career she conquered Broadway, television, and movies. She enjoyed a special relationship with Lucille Ball, who called her “Kid”.
